Detatched Dwelling - Moira
This villa was commissioned as a replacement dwelling on a corner site overlooking the Lagan and the town of Moira.

Design
The brief requested a high quality two storey building in a traditional rendered style. The plan form is a 't' shape with rooms organized off a central corridor. The modeling includes a traditional arched entrance with imperial sized quoins and moulded plinth. The chimneys are detailed similarly with appropriate pots. The rear elevation features a new stained glass window commissioned by the client, set in a quoin roundel. Internally this delivers additional light to the half landing of the stairs. The entrance to the lounge incorporates an elliptical arch sprung from classical style fluted columns reflecting the arch form of the main entrance. The first floor bedrooms are accessed via a stairwell gallery and a seating area above the front door. The client added a gothic stained glass window to the end of the corridor to supply borrowed natural light.
